MATERNITY
I can see an exciting series here and it seems to me you are a promising and creative photographer with high aesthetic criteria and a restless spirit. The most significant feature of your work is its personal character and as you kno The most significant feature of your work is its personal character and as you know, the personal character of work increases its authenticity. What we see here is not an objective presentation of reality but your subjective view of it. Actually, is a way to express your thoughts and concerns about motherhood while you experience a difficult period of it as you have a little child. I like the fact that you have not lost your humor and you can make fun of yourself. This is a feature of a mature and conscious person. However, the humoristic character of some images is completely balanced by the realism of your position as a mother. We all know that, in most cases, a mother for some years is a woman that has forgotten her femininit cases, a mother for some years is a woman that has forgotten her femininity, her independence, and even her identity, and you have managed to present it successfully through your story. The above meaning is given in a smart and minimal way gradually as we move from one image to the next. Every image is meaningful, with clear and comprehensive content that works as a metaphor. Toys, care products, necessary tools, are used as the protagonists of the pictures for their symbolism. Fragments of your body are also crucial to define your role. There is a pureness and simplicity as regards the whole approach and the white background supports this impression. Beyond this, I like the fact that you express your feelings of capturing inside the specific role and staying in reality without idealizing motherhood. You present the advantages as well as disadvantages closing with a positive and sweet message. We learn things about you by looking at images and this is great. After all, what every artist does at the end (I mean with its whole work) is to tell its story and present its life philosophy. We could say that you are a thoughtful, optimistic, and sensitive person with social concerns. You look for the exceptional in the ordinary with a philosophical mood and you know how to make it visible. You are also a perfectionist trying to control the chaos through minimal, directed, and balanced compositions. Your work is carefully constructed and it is obvious the time and effort you have invested in it. It is also obvious that you have realized that photography has healing power and it is the best way out of every hard situation. power and it is the best way out of every hard situation. This fact makes you a conscious artist. All images are perfectly executed and composed proving your background and your natural storytelling talent. [...] As regards the sequencing, I find the concept of the last image to the point but I would like it to have a similar directed approach with the rest because now it stands out. It is a lovely image and the idea of the nude bodies, the lack of faces, and the hag are perfect but it looks spontaneous in contrast with the rest. You could create an image with all the above features but from a greater distance and a staged character (imagine something like image 5 with the boy in the arms of the mother, for example). In conclusion, your project has a conceptual interest, originalit In conclusion, your project has a conceptual interest, originality, and high aesthetic, and many chances to be distinguished. Reflect on the above suggestions, make the necessary improvements, and don't stop work on it even with new chapters. I would love to see it published through a book in the near future.
